Things are heating up this month, and one of the reasons for this is Venus moving into intense Scorpio today—its position of detriment (cue the scary Halloween music).
Scorpio is a highly complex sign, ruling intimacy, magic, power, trauma and profound transformation through death and rebirth. If there’s one sign you don’t want to mess with,
it’s Scorpio.
The Scorpion’s potent energy is just too extra for harmony-seeking Venus, which makes this placement uncomfortable. Moving from Venus in Libra to Venus in Scorpio means we’re still talking about relationships, but the conversation turns from light-hearted pleasure to the darker aspects of relating—sexuality, relational imbalances, abuse and death/loss.
Venus in Scorpio is the mistress of transformation, the phoenix rising from the ashes who leaves her dark past in the dust to boldly pursue love again from a strengthened position.
Needless to say, this could be a harsh time for our intimate partnerships, but it’s also an opportunity to heal and be honest about our true passions.
It's interesting to me that we're heading into the 20th anniversary of the 911 attacks tomorrow, a time when many will be reflecting on the tragic loss of their loved ones—a very heavy time for the collective.
Because Venus also relates to creativity and Scorpio also rules psychology, an excellent way to heal from this trauma is through performance art. Leonardo DiCaprio is a perfect example of someone with this placement, as his gut-wrenching acting performances convey tremendous emotional channeling and release.
However you deal with this transit (lasting until October 7th), make sure to embrace your shadow (running away will only make things harder) and commit to the people and pursuits that make you feel powerful.
